Feeling Like a VIP at Universal Orlando with a VIP Tour!

May 11, 2022 by Hannah Head

Picture this. You’re minding your own business, waiting in line for that ride you’ve been so excited to experience… and it happens. A breeze across your face, the flash of Slytherin and Ravenclaw shirts pass by. The VIP tour has arrived. You watch in happiness, and a tad hint of jealousy, as they hop on that exact ride you’re in line for. “That’s going to be me one day,” you whisper to yourself. But what you didn’t know is experiencing a VIP Tour Experience at Universal Orlando is easier than you think!
gif

The Facts

If you’re wanting to feel “very important” Universal Orlando is ready to make that happen. In fact, Universal offers two ways to experience their VIP Tours.

Option 1 – Shared VIP Experience

Your first option is a shared experience. For only $189 per person plus tax, you, your friends, and a small group of other people (who we’re sure will be your friends by the end of the day) will “get exclusive backstage access, learn fun insider information, and enjoy the parks’ most amazing rides and attractions without waiting in line.”

Here’s what’s included in that cost:

  • Priority front-of-the-line access to all rides and attractions including The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man®, TRANSFORMERS™: The Ride-3D and all of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™ attractions

  • Exclusive behind-the-scenes experiences in the parks (subject to availability)

  • Complimentary valet parking (one vehicle, based on availability)

  • Reserved seating at shows (excludes live performances during Mardi Gras and Mannheim Steamroller during the holidays)

  • Complimentary continental breakfast and lunch. Dinner included in Private VIP Experiences only

  • Universal Express Unlimited ride access at participating rides and attractions throughout the rest of the day (during normal park operating hours)

  • Exclusive VIP Experiences lanyard and credential

  • Universal CityWalk Party Pass™, valid only on date of VIP Experience (during normal CityWalk park operating hours)^^

  • Discounts at select Universal Orlando owned and operated merchandise locations in the theme parks and CityWalk

Option 2 – Private VIP Experience

Your second option gives you true “Very Important Person” / VIP tour status. “As the only guests on this all-day tour, your private group will get exclusive VIP treatment.” Your group will be able to build your own itinerary. It also means unlimited front-of-the-line access to all participating rides and attractions. On top of all the perks guests receive on the shared experience, guests booking a private VIP tour will also receive a “My Universal Photos 3-Day Photo Package,” which begins the same day your tour takes place. Prices for this option vary, so make sure to talk to your MMV agent to get the most accurate information.

Currently, these VIP tours are offered at Universal Studios Florida and Universal’s Islands of Adventure in these formats:

Let’s Have Some Fun (A First-Hand Experience)

Recently a small group of our MMV agents had the opportunity to live the life of a “VIP” at Universal Orlando, so instead of boring you with the details… we want to show you how #EPIC their day was visiting the parks. Take a look!

It’s 9 o’clock on the dot, we’re in our MMV gear cruising the streets (of Universal Studios).

Our agents were ready for some fun at 9 o’clock in the morning at Universal Studios. But, you can’t have a full day of fun on an empty stomach, so first up on the schedule was Café La Bamba for a breakfast buffet. Here our agents chatted with their tour guide for the day, Vincent, about everything they hoped to do that day.

At 9:30, it was time to get to the good stuff. Did someone say back-to-back rides on Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure™ AND Jurassic World VelociCoaster? ‘Cause they did just that (and it was amazing)! Our agents were able to experience 8 attractions between 9:30 and 12:30.

At 12:30 it was lunchtime! Here they were able to experience a 3-course meal at Mythos, an award-winning restaurant located inside Universal’s Islands of Adventure.
But the day wasn’t over yet. After lunch, MMV was able to continue their day experience at the front of the line on 6 other attractions. PLUS, to make the day even more amazing, they were able to step backstage and get an up-close look at how they service the Spiderman vehicles and step into the world of the Men in Black.

Some of the great things about experiencing a VIP Tour at Universal Orlando is the fun you and your family can experience in a stress-free way. And, we can’t forget to mention the icing on this cake: the VIP Tour Guides. The tour guides at Universal Orlando are the perfect bow for your “V.I. Present.” They are packed full of fun facts, great advice, and helping hands. They’ll make sure to take time for special photos, that you don’t miss anything important, and will become a member of the family by the end of the day. Special note: That’s why it’s always important to tip these amazing team members to show them your thanks!

As you can see, if you’re wanting to tackle the parks like a pro, a VIP Tour may be a great way to see the sights! Contact your MMV agent to talk about what might be a good fit for you and your family on your next Universal Orlando Resort Vacation!

Experience a conference at the Walt Disney World Resort like a MMV travel agent!

May 6, 2022 by Hannah Head

This past week, April 25-29, 2022, if you happened to be visiting Walt Disney World Resort you may have seen groups of our agents walking through the parks, or around the resorts, sporting their favorite MMV Shirts!!! 45 of our agents were honored to attend an “MMV Exclusive Diamond Conference”. Take a journey with us as we tell you all about the fun… I mean learning, that was to be had during our week at the Walt Disney World Resort! Hold on tight because this is a jam-packed blog with lots of information!

THE RESORTS

While all of our agents had the pleasure of staying at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge during the event itself, many of our agents arrived a day, or two, prior while others decided they didn’t want to leave… this meant agents got to explore more resorts!! Take a look at several of the resorts our agents experienced before, during, and after the AEP:

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge Standard Rooms

This amazing deluxe resort was our agents’ home for the duration of the conference! With views of various wild animals, including giraffes, zebras, and ostrich to name a few, this African-themed resort makes you feel part of the Lion King story! Check out some of the rooms and views various agents experienced during their stay. Savannah View rooms are a bookable category but many agents were able to see the wild African animals from the balcony of their standard view rooms!

Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Club Level Room

Step into the wilderness of log cabins and bears at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge!! This resort is located in the Magic Kingdom area and offers short boat rides to/from the main attraction! While bears may not be roaming around as the giraffes do at Animal Kingdom, Wilderness Lodge still offers an amazing array of amenities and enticements, including the option to book a Club Level room, with access to the Concierge Lounge, like some of our agents did for their pre-conference stay!

Concierge Lounge (Club Level) amenities:

Disney’s Copper Creek 2 Bedroom Villa:

Located within Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, this amazing 2-bedroom villa offers lots of space for up to 8 guests! The specific one our agents stayed in had a pool view and a balcony large enough to enjoy the cool evening air and pool view!

Disney‘s Beach Club 2 Bedroom Villa:

A group of our agents stayed an extra night and enjoyed Disney’s Beach Club Resort. They were able to stay in a 2 bedroom Villa and enjoyed a Cabana at Stormalong Bay for the day!

Disney’s Saratoga Springs Preferred 1 Bedroom Villa:

This resort is within a short walk (or boat) ride to Disney Springs giving you quick access to great dining and shopping! This resort’s villas have recently been updated and offer guests space to spread out while in their resort room!

DAY 1 – WELCOME EVENT, EPCOT

Once we all checked into Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge for their 4-night stay, they headed out to EPCOT to get the party on… I mean training, started!!! First up, a private dining experience! As a Diamond-level agency, agents were treated to a meal where they were able to enjoy the company of Cast Member Brent who oversees the Disney Cruise Line’s Groups Department! While watching a sunset view over Spaceship Earth we learned about the new Disney Cruise Line Groups offerings that will be released to us to book for clients!

Harmonious Dessert Party

Once dinner was over, we all headed out to the Showcase Lagoon to enjoy the Harmonious Dessert Party in front of The World Showcase Lagoon – totally amazing view of the show being front and center. Ask your agent about how to book this – who doesn’t want great desserts with an awesome show!!!

Deluxe Guest Extended Hours

After Harmonious, many of our agents took advantage of the Extended Hours offered to guests staying at deluxe resorts guests and headed over to the Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure in the France Pavilion of the World Showcase! Some even manage to take a spin on Test Track!

DAY 2 – CLASSROOM TIME & the MAGIC KINGDOM

The next morning we all gathered together first thing in the morning to head over to a Disney Institute Training!! The agents all enjoyed the hospitality of Disney’s Contemporary Resort Convention Center! We were super excited to learn first-hand from Disney Cast Member Experts who talked to us about “Disney’s Approach to Qualify Service.” The bonus piece of this training was the tour through the backstage area of the Magic Kingdom’s Main Street! We can’t reveal the secrets of the Utilidors but you can book a “Keys to the Kingdom” tour to see them for yourself!

Lunch at Steakhouse 71 at Disney’s Contemporary Resort

Excellent Service! Fantastic food!!!! Wonderful ambiance! A definite “must-do” to add to your Disney World Experience list!

Animal Kingdom Lodge’s Starlight Safari

Some of our agents participated in the Starlight Safari! Here’s what they had to say about it:

“It was a very cool experience. We were so close to the zebras we could’ve easily <have> touched them but of course, that is not allowed. Just warn clients to bring bug spray.” This special behind-the-scenes tour is a bookable event for any guests!

DAY 3 – LEARNING IN A GALAXY FAR, FAR AWAY

Before the sun rose, we headed to Hollywood Studios to board Rise of the Resistance as the first guests of the day!!! After a quick group shot in front of Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, we saved the galaxy from the First Order, then headed over to Battuu’s Docking Bay 7 for a catered breakfast. Our agents spent the rest of the day learning how to use Genie+, exploring more of Hollywood Studios, and enjoying Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge resort amenities.

Even though Day 3 saw a super early start time… some of our agents “toughed it out” and took advantage of the Extended Hours at Magic Kingdom!

Beautiful views of Cinderella’s Castle are to be had late at night!

Fun times on rides with super low waits during the Extended Hours offered to guests staying at Disney’s Deluxe Resorts!

Our agents almost didn’t make it out of the park awake!

DAY 4 – “See Ya’ Real Soon”

Closing Dinner, Napa at California Grill at Disney’s Contemporary Resort

Disney Destinations treated us to a super special event held in Disney’s Fairytales & Weddings venue, Napa, located just off of California Grill on the top floor of Disney’s Contemporary Resort. This special venue allowed us an amazing view of the Magic Kingdom’s closing show, Enchanted. It was an amazing experience, especially when we had the opportunity to meet Mickey Mouse himself in his special 50th Anniversary suit!

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort…. It Calls Me.

February 9, 2022 by Hannah Head

Visiting Walt Disney World is an experience like no other. It’s a place to make magical moments that your family will cherish for a lifetime. While park time is typically the highlight of your visit, choosing the right resort can make, or break, your vacation. With so many choices onsite at Walt Disney World, we’ve decided to give you a more in-depth look into some of the places we love to call “home” while visiting the Most Magical Place on Earth.

We’re kicking off our resort showcase at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. This South Pacific-themed resort is a fan-favorite for both its location, but more importantly, its tropical island feel.

The Resort Details

While this first part may seem a little boring, it is important to know the make-up of this resort! Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is technically a two-part destination. It is comprised of both a normal deluxe Disney resort, as well as a Disney Vacation Club resort known as Disney’s Polynesian Villas and Bungalows. The most important factor to the average Disney goer is the THEMING and this resort is bringing its A-game!

“See the line where the sky meets the sea…”

Admit it, you sung that in your head, didn’t you? Don’t worry, we did too! Who doesn’t love Moana? She quickly paddled her way into our hearts and we are so thankful for it. Why do I bring up this Polynesian princess? Because she’s the inspiration for the traditional section of the Polynesian Villiage Resort!

Photos Courtesy of Walt Disney Travel Company

LOOK AT ALL THE COLORS! These rooms really pop!

Most of the rooms in this newly remodeled section of the resort can sleep 5 people! Each room features 2 queens and a day bed. This means it’s a great way to fit the whole family into one room, or have extra room to bring a friend along. Inside these adorable rooms, you’ll also find a small refrigerator to hold drinks and snacks and a coffee maker …..because let’s face it, we’re rope-dropping the parks and will need some caffeine!

** The Ambassador VP suite and King Kamehameha suite both sleep 8 and the Honeymoon Room sleeps 2. All three of these rooms also provide Club Level access. **

gif

“Ohana means family and family means…” you may need some extra space and possibly a kitchen to cook your own food!

Ok so that’s not how that line ends, but you get the point. …. and it brings us to the second section of the “Poly,” Disney’s Polynesian Villas and Bungalows.

If you guessed it’s theming is out of this world, you’re right! This section of Disney’s island paradise is Lilo and Stitch-themed. First, let’s point out the most important thing to remember about this half of the resort…. it is first and foremost a Disney Vacation Club section. This means Disney Vacation Club members have “first dibs” if you will, at rooms found here. The reason this is important is because your MMV agent may have to practice a little patience when it comes to acquiring a room in this part. Rooms tend to become available a little later than the other half to give DVC members plenty of time to claim their spot.

Here’s the 626, we mean the 411 on these rooms…

At Disney’s Polynesian Villas and Bungalows, worrying about space is not a problem. For the average family, a Studio is the room of choice. These rooms sleep up to 5 and feature one traditional queen bed, a pull-down queen bed (don’t worry it’s an identical mattress to the stationary bed), and a day bed.

For families who want to kick it up a notch, or may want a little more privacy, then a bungalow may be the choice for you! These over-the-water escapes are top of the line. Each bungalow features 1 king bed, 1 queen bed, 1 pull-down queen bed, and 2 single pull-down beds. They also have a full living room, kitchen, patio for ideal firework views at the Magic Kingdom, and a personal hot tub. YEP, your very own hot tub to sit back and relax after a long day in the parks.

Let’s take a stroll around the resort!

Picture this… the warm Florida breeze gliding through your hair, the perfect Polynesian soundtrack playing down the paths, and all the greenery you could ever ask for. This resort is lush! Need a little beach time? Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort has that covered too. You can kick off your flip-flops and dig your toes into the sand, while the kids run off some extra energy. **Tip: If you choose to do online check-in for this resort, make sure to still swing by the front desk to still pick up your complimentary lei! **

Is that your stomach rumbling?

You’re in luck. At this resort, you’ve got a variety of options to grab a bite. If you’re in a hurry or want something low-key, Capt. Cooks is the place to go. This quick-service dining is the place to grab some Tonga Toast for breakfast or a Pan-Asian snack. Have picky kiddos or picky kids at heart? No worries, there are plenty of chicken nuggets and cheeseburgers to go around.

Another great dining option is Kona Café. This relaxed café infuses a bit of Asian zest into traditional American meals and features an onstage sushi kitchen. While you can get Tonga Toast at Capt. Cooks, at Kona you can truly give it the love and admiration it deserves. Trust us, it’s yummy, you’ll want to take your time enjoying this meal. There’s also a super fun option on the kid’s menu called “Kids Sushi,” but if you look closely you’ll realize this isn’t your average sushi, it’s chicken nuggies on rice! Baby Grogu, aka Baby Yoda, would be so proud. While not required, snagging an Advanced Dining Reservation for this location is recommended.

We’re not done with food just yet. One of Walt Disney World’s most popular restaurants also calls Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort home…Ohana. While this restaurant has seen some changes since the pandemic, it’s still an ideal place to eat, eat, and eat some more for both breakfast and dinner. The current heavy hitter for this restaurant is easily the dinner, which offers a family-style, all-you-can-eat set up featuring things like Wood-fire Grilled Teriyaki Beef, Spicy Peel-n-Eat Shrimp, and Grilled Chicken with Polynesian-inspired Chimichurri Sauce. But one of the items it is most known for are the ‘Ohana Noodles. These noodles are so good that when they initially didn’t appear on the reopening menu, the Disney community banned together to shout to the heavens they needed these noodles. Luckily they showed back up on the menu shortly after. For Ohana it is always recommended to snag an Advanced Dining Reservation. Since its reopening, a walk-up list has been available but this list does fill up. Check your My Disney Experience app to check wait times and to join the list!

Image Courtesy of Walt Disney Travel Company

On top of these 3 dining options, there are still EVEN MORE places to grab food when you’re feeling a little “rumbly in your tumbly.” Places like the Tambo Lounge, which is upstairs next to Ohana, is a great place to grab a drink and a snack (including those noodles we just talked about). ….as well as Kona Island (next to Kona Cafe), the various pool bars, and possibly the most important location for the 21 and older crowd, Trader Sam’s.

“How do you get a hippo out of a tree? Two shots (of rum).”

This is just one of the many catchphrases you’ll hear inside Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto when you order a drink. In fact, most drinks have a slogan that your Skipper (aka your waitress/bartender) will shout as they place your drink in front of you. The phrase above belongs to the HippopotoMai-Tai, which is delicious but is as strong as a hippo. Trader Sam’s is hopping most times and it’s one of the places to be on the weekends in Orlando. If you are familiar, even just a little bit, with tiki culture, this location has a major following. So, if you want to sit down inside, doors open at 4 and it’s packed by 4:01… so come early to drink early, or plan to get in later and close it out! Don’t drink alcohol or have the kiddos with you? Not a problem. The atmosphere inside this unique hideaway is still worth your time. Grab yourself a fruity Non-Alcoholic drink and some pulled pork tacos. Once inside, you’ll come face to face with the Goddess of Disaster and experience adventure at every sip. Take time to check out the details of this bar and learn the backstory. Your skipper will happily answer your questions about the mysterious Trader Sam. Plus, if you’re into souvenirs, you can bring your very own tiki mug home to relive your daring adventure.

** Something important to note: Explorers, under the age of 21, are allowed inside Trader Sam’s until 8 pm each day. **

If theatrics aren’t your cup of tea, but you still would like to enjoy a drink, just slide around the corner! Trader Sam’s has a separate outdoor location (Trader Sam’s Tiki Terrace) that still allows you to enjoy the same food and drinks as the Grog Grotto and offers fantastic views of Magic Kingdom’s nightly firework show.

But wait, there’s more…

Everything above is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the Polynesian Village Resort. We still haven’t mentioned some of its other little offerings! Like, it’s home to one of the best and most popular pools on property! So popular, in fact, that you’ll have to scan your magic band or room key to get in; or that you can rent a boat to take a cruise around the Seven Seas Lagoon. As we said above, the Magic Kingdom firework views are perfection from this resort and you can even watch the Electrical Water Pageant from here. The fun is truly endless.

But we definitely can’t forget to mention the monorail!! Yes, the “Poly” is one of the deluxe resorts located on the monorail loop to the Magic Kingdom and also offers easy access to the monorail line to EPCOT. Staying here means quick access to the magic!

So, if you’re looking for somewhere to stay at Walt Disney World that is a destination in itself, give Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort a try! We promise, you won’t regret it. 🙂

My wife and I recently traveled to Disney World with Hannah’s help and had an amazing time. We did what amounted to just a weekend in FL and Hannah was incredible at helping us plan our time, learn all of Disney’s tips and tricks, and hit everything we wanted to in our short time available. Would highly recommend her and will definitely be asking her to help us again when we go back!

Hannah helped us plan our family’s week-long Christmas Vacation to Disney World last December (2017)! This was when she was working as a cast member for Disney World, and having been there for 5 months prior, she knew the parks exceptionally well! For the most part, we only went to one park a day, but she also planned occasional special evening events at other parks (like parades, firework shows, etc). She also suggested we spend an extra $15 on wristbands that keep track out our individual accounts which listed our park pass, Fast Passes, character pictures from the park, starred or interested events, and wait times for rides to say the least. She introduced us to the Disney Park App which gave us a visual of the parks and or accounts! During days in which we didn’t go to the parks (4-day pass, week-long vacation) she gave us suggestions on places to see nearby, like the Disney Springs shopping center! We practically spent a whole afternoon and evening there window shopping and buying things! I myself was looking for a very specific gift for a gift exchange and she knew of the only two locations where the gift might be found: inside the Magic Kingdom or at Disney Springs. I found it at Disney Springs! On the rare occasion that plans didn’t work out (my wife had difficulties with her entry pass), Hannah worked with the customer services to resolve the issue quickly. She even showed up to the park one day to talk with the customer services face to face! Hannah...
